Balgove Larder

A little about us.

Balgove Larder is a farm shop, butchery and café just outside St Andrews in Fife. Built around a love of fresh Scottish food, Balgove brings together produce that is locally reared, grown, caught, handmade and prepared, with food from the farm travelling only a short distance before reaching the shop. The farm shop is stocked with daily provisions and pantry essentials, including fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, eggs, sourdough, coffee, jam, deli foods, ready meals and fresh meat from the butchery. The traditional butchery offers home-reared meat from the farm, including beef, pork, lamb, poultry, sausages, burgers, kebabs, bacon, haggis, puddings and meat packs. Alongside the shop, visitors can enjoy the café, Eat Out area and Steak Barn, as well as the Garden Shed, which offers seasonal cut flowers, greenery, bouquets, potted plants, seeds, pots, tools, garden materials and workshops. Balgove also runs events including its popular Night Market, which celebrates Scottish produce, local makers, food trucks, live music, demonstrations and seasonal shopping.

Balgove Larder sells fresh Scottish farm shop produce, including fruit and vegetables, milk, eggs, sourdough, coffee, jam, deli foods, ready meals and pantry essentials, alongside home-reared meat from the farm through their traditional butchery. Visitors can also enjoy the café, Eat Out area, Steak Barn, Garden Shed, seasonal flowers, plants, workshops, butchery classes, gift vouchers, hampers, online shopping and regular events such as the Night Market.

Seasonal availability & visiting information

Farm Shop & Garden Shed: Monday to Sunday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Café: Monday to Sunday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Breakfast is available until 11:30am, lunch is served from 12:00pm–3:00pm, and the café closes at 4:30pm. Eat Out: Monday to Sunday, 9:00am–4:30pm, weather dependent and card payments only. Steak Barn: Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00pm–9:00pm.

Visit the farm shop in person to browse and buy directly. Pop in during opening hours to see what’s fresh, seasonal and available on the day. Balgove also has an online shop for selected products, including butchery, fruit and veg, dairy and deli items, bakery goods, larder products, ready meals, hampers, garden items, afternoon tea, vouchers and delivery options.
